This is the Wildlife Conservation Division of Shizuoka Prefectural Office in Japan.
We proudly present the beautiful autumn colors and clear mountain streams of the Southern Alps in Japan!

Usokozawa is located about an hour and forty minute walk from Numadaira gate, the start point in climbing the Southern Alps of Japan (Shizuoka Prefecture side). From Numadaira gate, it is a 40 minute walk to Hatanagi suspension bridge and another hour of walk past the bridge to get to Usokozawa.
The stream originates from Mt. Kamikochi and Mt. Chausu.
The mountain stream with clear and transparent water does not dry up and provides nourishment to animals and plants all year round.
Please enjoy the clear stream of Japan’s beautiful Southern Alps.

* It is very dangerous to visit Usokozawa wearing light clothes. Sufficient climbing equipment and experience is required to visit the area.
